Background : MRF was a real tough account to work on. Their agency Goldwire (which I joined later) was very demanding. We looked upon MRF ads as a pain. This following ad went up and down a 20 times...all the lines that we gave being rejected. The brief was to : 

"To communicate that MRF has won all the rallies of the year in both the Modified cars and Unmodified cars section driving the competition into the ground. "

Out of sheer desperation, Minoo who until then had us follow strict guidelines when writing MRF ads, asked us to freak out write wildly. This was when I crazily wrote down an associative thought from the famous 'cash and credit' sticker in shops (I think it goes something like this "
"You ask credit
I no give
You get mad
So I give credit

When I ask for cash
You no give
I get mad
Better you get mad."

I wrote it as

"We modify car
And run race
We win...competition goes mad

Then we unmodify car
And run race
We still win...competition gets madder !

Now this happens year after year
....I don't remember the closing line...anyway they jumped on the idea and modified it to a teaser sort of campaign...this was the outcome :
